Hairstyles Collection (2023)

About the Hairstyles Collection:
After a jerry curl perm left me with hair loss at 20, I gained a new perspective on African braiding styles. African hairstyles have long been a reflection of identity, community, and spirituality. They are also a testament to the skill and creativity of the hairstylists who create these styles. My drawings challenge negative attitudes towards wearing and styling natural African hair. By showcasing the elegance of classic and contemporary African braiding hairstyles in my art, I hope to inspire an active continuation of the culture of creative braiding.
